Submission Guidelines
The Central Review is Central Michigan University's undergraduate literary journal.
Submissions are accepted during a window each semester, and during the summer. Issues are printed in November and April.
Pieces are accepted in the very broad categories of "poetry" and "prose." Due to the vagary of these terms, please assign your pieces either "prose submission" or "poetry submission" in the subject line of your email.
Students can submit up to five poems, of no more than three pages per poem as well as up to three pieces of prose not exceeding 4,000 words per piece. That means everyone is entitled to submit up to 15 pages of poetry (with no poem longer than three pages) AND up to 12,000 words of prose. This has confused many people in the past. I hope it makes sense now.
We are actively looking for any form of poetry, fiction, flash fiction, creative non-fiction, drama, essays, jokes or whatever else you would like us to read.
Submission must include a short third person biography, not longer than three sentences. These may be edited for length.
Alright, still with us? Good.
Please send submissions to cmucentralreview@gmail.com
The Central Review Reading and Launch Party will be taking place APRIL 19 in the BABER ROOM of the CHARLES V. PARK LIBRARY.
Now please tell your friends.
(We are also looking for future editors, designers and support staff. Please leave applications on the Central Review desk, Moore Hall 436.)
